Prisca Nambazo was born with spina bifida 19 years ago. Later, she developed hydrocephalus.
“My journey has been different from that of many other children,” Prisca says.
“I have faced medical challenges, physical limitations and moments of uncertainty.”
At Child Help SBH, we remember how often Prisca visited the hospital for medical attention and surgeries. At times, it seemed as though she lived at the hospital—going home only to return again.
But today, her story is no longer one of despair.
It is a story of strength, faith, determination and hope.
Prisca says she is grateful to her family, teachers, healthcare providers and the Child Help SBH team who never gave up on her.
And today, she has something very special to celebrate.
Prisca has been selected to study Business Administration at the University of Malawi Polytechnic after scoring 12 points at MSCE.
This is not just about grades.
It is about resilience. It is about refusing to give up when giving up seemed like the only option. It is about proving that difficult circumstances do not have to bring an end to education or ambition.
Prisca’s journey shows that even when life becomes difficult, you can keep learning, keep moving forward and keep pursuing your dreams.
Today, we see not only a student, but a future administrator.
And perhaps the greatest lesson from Prisca’s story is this:
Never underestimate what a person with a disability can achieve.
